Doctor

  • Scott Buzhardt , DVM


    Following graduation from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Buzhardt came to The Animal Center in 1980.  His focus of interest is small animal orthopedics and soft tissue surgery.  He is married to Dr. Lynn Buzhardt, who is also one of the owners of The Animal Center.  Together, they have two children, Matthew and Paul.  Dr. Buzhardt's outside interests include hunting, fishing, and tennis.


  • Lynn F. Buzhardt , DVM


    Dr. Lynn Buzhardt is a 1980 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  She and her husband have lived in Zachary since 1982 and have two married sons, both human doctors.  She practices small animal medicine and speaks on veterinary medical topics throughout the nation.  Dr. Buzhardt also authors veterinary medical articles and has cowritten a book with Dr. Sue Steib entitled, "Can We Have One?  A Parent's Guide to Raising Kids with Cats and Dogs".  The book is available in bookstores, at our hospital,  and online at Amazon.com.  She is a board member of The American Heartworm Society.  Her free time is spent with her family, playing tennis, and with her adopted cat Briggs and the family dog, Scout.


  • Dr. Jason S. St. Romain , DVM


    Dr. St. Romain is a 2002 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  He was born and raised in Pointe Coupee parish where he attended Catholic High School in New Roads.  He has been practicing at The Animal Center since 2002 and became co-owner in 2005.  Dr. St. Romain has interests in equine and small animal medicine and surgery.  He resides in Zachary with his wife, Ellen, who is a teacher for the Zachary Community School District.  They have two children, Kaylin and Carter.  In his spare time, Dr. St. Romain enjoys hunting and saltwater fishing, or spending time with his family and his dog Remington.


  • Gwen R. Fuselier , DVM


    Dr. Gwen Fuselier is a 1999 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  She has been a veterinarian at the Animal Center since January of 2001.  A native of St. Francisville, she currently resides in Zachary with her husband, Brent, and their children Conner, Justin, Abagail and Tucker.  Dr. Fuselier enjoys small animal medicine and dermatology.  Her other interests include volunteering for various community organizations, including Zachary Schools.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, including the four Fuselier dogs, gardening, and occasional diving.
